Juniper ash rises from the fire, transformed from the juniper tree into a potent medicine. It meets the blue corn, unlocking its nourishment for the body and infusing each kernel with the nurturing power of the earth—strengthening, sustaining, and supporting life. Elderberry follows, a fruit long known for its power to protect and restore. These flavors carry forward stories of strength, renewal, and care.
Prickly Pear & Amaranth
The prickly pear, with its sweet fruit and nourishing pads, offering both sustenance and a connection to the land. Amaranth rises from the earth, small seeds full of strength
and resilience. They carry the memory of ancestors who tended the land, preserved the seeds, and shared their knowledge with future generations.
Together, amaranth and prickly pear have nourished not only the Diné people but many Indigenous nations, sustaining communities through periods of great challenge.
Maple Syrup & Wild Rice
Hand-harvested from lakes and rivers, manoomin rises—a sacred gift of the waters, central to the feasts and ceremonies of the Anishinaabe. Each grain carries the connection between people, land, and water, telling the story of a journey, of identity, and of generations who have protected the rice.
Golden maple syrup flows from the sugarbush, It carries the lessons of generosity, care, and gratitude: the sap must be gathered with intention and effort, reminding us that the gifts of the Creator are to be honored.
Indian Rice Grass & Serviceberry
For over 7,000 years, Indian rice grass has nourished Indigenous peoples, its small, resilient seeds gathered with care across generations. Serviceberries join these ancient grains—sweet, sustaining fruits long valued for their abundance and strength.
Together, they honor the relationship between people and land, carrying the memory of ancestors, the gifts of plant relatives, and the deep nourishment that has supported communities for millennia.
